Blog Tour!

Okay, you know that I'll be visiting a number of cities in December to meet readers and talk about INSPECTOR SPECTER and THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD. (And if you didn't know that, see below.) But if you don't happen to live near one of the cities on the tour, not to worry! I'll be at a blog near you for sure in December!

Here's the itinerary (so far) of the blog tour:

Gotta Write Network on Monday, December 1;
The Qwillery on Tuesday, December 2 (and a chance to win a copy of the book);
Lori's Reading Corner on Wednesday, December 3 (giveaway);
Marie's Cozy Corner on Tuesday, December 9 (giveaway);
Stuff and Nonsense on Wednesday, December 10 (giveaway);
Debbie's Book Bag on Friday, December 12 (giveaway);
Fresh Fiction on Tuesday, December 16;
Dru's Book Musings on Thursday, December 25 (although you might have other plans that day--but there will be a giveaway!).

More info as it becomes available. I hope to see you on the book tour, or read your comments on the virtual tour!

Road Trip!

INSPECTOR SPECTER, the sixth Haunted Guesthouse mystery, will be published on Tuesday December 2. After that we're going on the road! And here's how it'll go:

Monday, December 8: Aunt Agatha's in Ann Arbor, MI
Tuesday, December 9: Murder by the Book in Houston, TX
Wednesday, December 10: The Poisoned Pen in Scottsdale, AZ
Thursday, December 11 and Friday, December 12: I'm on the road. Literally. Plans are to fly to San Francisco and then make my way via Los Angeles to:
Saturday, December 13: Mysterious Galaxy's holiday party in San Diego, CA.

So, four bookstores in four cities in six days. And if you work for a bookstore between San Francisco and San Diego and would like to discuss an event, get in touch (if you're available on Dec. 11 or 12)!

If you're in one of those areas and would like to say hi, please come on out! Keep in mind that I'm probably coming from a lot farther away than you are! And it's the readers and the booksellers who make these events special. So I'm hoping to see you there. Wherever "there" is.

Thanks to all MISSING HEAD CHALLENGErs!

It's been just about a month (a little less) since the beginning of the MISSING HEAD CHALLENGE and we're so grateful to our readers! Thanks to you, $1000 has been donated to the Autism SPectrum Education Network (ASPEN). We so appreciate the response!

Remember: You post a picture of yourself with a copy of THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD, somewhere (Facebook, Twitter) we're sure to see it. Your contribution (not monetary) is noted, and $10 is donated in your name to ASPEN. While the Challenge is officially over, you can still post!

Thanks to HSG Agency, Midnight Ink Publishing and Twice Told Tales/Moonstone Bookshop (Flemington, NJ) for matching our donations. We're really very touched and proud.

The Missing Head Challenge!

Well, there's one week to go before publication of THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD, the first Asperger's mystery with Samuel Hoenig. And if you're thinking about buying a copy, here's what I hope will be a little more incentive.

Because THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD (already available for many ereaders) centers on a man who has Asperger's Syndrome, now considered an autism spectrum disorder, we (I wrote the book with Jeff Cohen) wanted to give a little back to the autism community. So each person who buys the book on its official publication date (Wednesday October 8) can help us do that--without spending an extra penny!

Just get a copy of the book, which we hope you'll like. Then take (or get someone else to take) a picture of you holding THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD. E-reader users: Get a picture with you holding your reader showing the title page.

Post that picture online, at Twitter or Facebook, and share it. For each picture we see, Jeff and I will donate $3 to the Autism SPectrum Education Network (ASPEN). So you'll be helping to make a donation, and you won't have to spend any extra money.

But that donation will grow: Both HSG Agency, which represents Jeff and me, and Midnight Ink, which is publishing THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD, have pledged to match our donation to ASPEN. So that $3 donation has now become a $9 donation.

We'll do that for the first 100 people we see on October 8, and we'll allow for some time zone differences. So if you'd like to read a fun new mystery with a (very) different narrator, and you'd like to help families with at least one member who has an autism spectrum disorder, please make sure you get the book on its first day and get a picture of you smiling while holding it (smiling is optional, but we hope you're happy about it), then post it where everyone can see.

You'll be helping people who can use it, and we think you'll have some fun reading THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD!

Long Time No See!

I admit it; I'm a poor correspondent. I don't post enough here, but in my defense... there's no defense. I'm writing Book #7 in the Haunted Guesthouse series right now and finished Book #2 (first draft) in the Asperger's Mystery series (with Jeff Cohen) yesterday, so I've been busy, but so have you! No excuses. Let's catch up.

Since last we spoke, the first two Guesthouse books have been sold for translation into Japanese! So someone will have to read them--when they show up on shelves in Japan--and let me know if the translation was accurate. How else would I know? More on that when I know more.

THE QUESTION OF THE MISSING HEAD, the first Samuel Hoenig Asperger's Mystery, is a touch over a month away! It'll publish on October 8 from Midnight Ink. If you'd like to read the first chapter, click here.

There'll be a special promotion that does NOT include getting doused over the head with ice water but might result in some nice donations to a worthy cause. Watch this and other spaces (like HEY THERE'S A DEAD GUY IN THE LIVING ROOM) for that coming soon!

A mere two months (or a little less) after MISSING HEAD will come INSPECTOR SPECTER, the sixth (!) Haunted Guesthouse mystery. It goes in a slightly different direction than in the past, as Alison is asked by Lt. McElone to look into the death of a colleague... by talking to his ghost. Which would be fine, except then the lieutenant goes missing and, well, then it gets complicated. Coming December 2.

I'll be speaking and signing at Barnes & Noble in East Brunswick, NJ for both books--dates when they're confirmed. Come on by if you can!

And yes, both new books will be available as audiobooks from Audible. No links yet, but soon. Also both will be available as e-books. I know the links aren't up on the most likely sites yet, but they will be by pub date or (missing) heads will roll!

As always, thrilled to hear from readers at ejcopperman [at] gmail [dot] com.

I promise I'll try to be more current here. But... you know...
